What Is The Lunch Program?
The LUNCH Program (Louisiana Upgrading Nutrition for Children’s Health) has been successfully operating since December 1987 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and was formed by Mr. Richard T. Daspit, Sr.
The LUNCH Program is a sponsor of the CACFP (Child and Adult Care Food Program) and is a Non-Profit organization. Our purpose is to assist childcare providers through education, training and the extra financial support it takes to provide better nutrition for children in their care. Our agency is funded by the United States Department of Agriculture, the Louisiana Department of Education and Foundation Health Services, Inc. The LUNCH Program is a Division of Foundation Health Service, Inc. and is located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Meal Types
LUNCH Program may reimburse you for the following meal types:
- Breakfast
- Lunch & Supper (Dinner)
- Snacks (your choice of a.m. or p.m.)
You may be reimbursed for two (2) meals and one (1) snack, or two (2) snacks and one (1) meal a day for each child enrolled in your day care home business as long as you serve meals that meet the U.S.D.A. meal requirements. As your sponsor, it is our responsibility to provide training and materials needed to help you receive the reimbursement for the nutritious meals you serve.
